So after a full day and drained brains, the team added more to the hypothetical hypothesis:
Focus even more than a broad βDigital Innovationβ which could be interpreted as anything and everything.. (Focus is key)
Digital Health is not well understood by the industry to this day, and certainly not by large pharma. (Education & Internal Engagement)
For every challenge that an industry and / or organization has, there is an entrepreneur somewhere in the world working on it. (Openness)
While scouting for startups and innovations is critical, the key to success is making it relevant for your current or future customers = concrete business opportunities were needed. (Where to Play)
The cash-cow needed to be preserved, scaled and taken deeper into the HOW to build sustainable and scalable commercial relationships with startups that add value to the existing assets of the organization, but also explore a bit further frontiers with no major promises to the startups. (Reputation inside and outside)
We needed sub-team(s) to take on the problem statement and take it to market in a very different way from an idea to one penny of revenue. (De-risking)
Some people on this kick-ass team went for this ride, others did not. Some by choice some after very difficult and emotional discussions.
