Happy Friday everyone! It was absolutely amazing that so many of you responded with feedback on the first update and the EROOM law. I had an idea in my head for that chapter, but some of you challenged my thinking on it.. đ
Secondly, a few of you had asked a simple question of what the book is actually about... I assumed everyone can read my mind :) Since apparently thatâs not the case, today I want to give you just a bit more context to the book. The going title is âHard Pill To Swallowâ with a sub-title of .. drumroll please⊠đ„đ„đ„đ„đ„đ„
âAn Entrepreneurâs Journey through the belly of the beastâ
..and with that hopefully it gives you more to ponder about over the weekend.
but now onto Swiss cheese and what does it have to do with decision making? Here is a very short paragraph on Swiss Cheese Decision making, but where I need you is to help me decide if (just hit reply and letter or comments)
(A) you want to read more anecdotes
(B) my hypothesis on what can be done about it
(C) all of the above
(D) meh.. here is my idea_______
âŠ.People would always use the word âalignmentâ before any decision to be made, but what they really mean is consensus and if there is no consensus, then time would just pass and then would pass again with more slides and consultantsâŠ
But what drove me completely insane is what I called âSwiss cheese decision makingâ - this is where you think a decision was made, you got yourself a slice of cheese and then the poking would start. Someone would poke a hole and then someone else would poke a hole and then it kept going till there is almost no cheese to be hadâŠâŠ
Got stories to contribute? Anonymous or not - let me know..
Till Next Week,
A and D: does it matter why it happens? Or does it matter to your reader how to succeed in that environment (that canât or wonât or both) change? Not why do they poke holes. How to move forward and still be successful despite them (the holes, not the people ;-p ... or maybe not ... lol)
